Lent photo project 2020, day 14: drink

I am recovering from food poisoning (thank you for all your prayers and well wishes, btw). Food poisoning can leave you dehydrated so the advice is to drink, drink, drink, to make sure you're properly hydrated.

Since our bodies need water for every function, not having it leads to illness very quickly. Every major organ system becomes affected and rapidly, if water is not replenished, our bodies shut down.

“Let anyone who is thirsty come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them.” John 7:37-38

Jesus is our living water, and we need to drink our living water every day. Too often the busy-ness of life and my daily stresses keep me from drinking of this water, and I can feel the effects of spiritual dehydration. I love this time of Lent because it allows me to reflect and drink of God's water daily. My prayer is that we never become even a little bit dehydrated and that we will have rivers of living water flowing from us.

This is my travel tea mug, with my silicone tea infuser inside. Cute, isn't it?
