"Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will grow to become in every respect the mature body of him who is the head, that is, Christ. From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work." Ephesians 4:15-16
I just love this image of the Body of Christ. This is what I desire for us, all of us who follow Him, the newest to the faith, the long time students, young, old, from all nations, everywhere. Mature, joined, held together, supporting each other, growing and building up in love, all of us doing our part of the work. Each part of the body has a function in the overall body, yes, but also to the part directly connected to it.
I am usually so focused on the overall goal that I often don't take a look around me. I love doing mission trips, serving others in other parts of the world, in places that aren't anything like my home town. But often I forget to look at the people in my home town. I don't always talk to the people who live in the house next to me, or a few doors down from me. I live in this neighborhood full of people but I'm only friends with maybe 2-3.
May we all grow together in love, supporting each other, building each other up, so we can stay joined and hold together.
Let's share the toilet paper.
This is a picture of my husband on his way to work today. He is an emergency physician. He is the front line for illnesses, like all the doctors, nurses, medical professionals. In addition to the potential Co-Vid 19 patients, they also have to take care of people with cancer, heart disease, other infections, broken bones, depression, schizophrenia, etc. These things are still happening to people. So when you participate in social distancing and wash your hands and cough and sneeze into your shoulder, you are supporting and helping these folks. Thank you.
