Lent photo project 2020, day 33: celebrate

These are crazy times we are living in and some days, it is hard to really celebrate. I am sad for students, especially seniors in high school and college, who are ending their 4 years away from friends, possibly missing prom, graduation, and lots of get togethers. Some college seniors left for spring break and learned while they were gone that their dorms were closed and they had to move out quickly. Some couldn't make it back because they lived out of state, and so they had to scramble and ask friends to pack their stuff and load it into a pod. Some parents had to drive long distances to help pack up their college students. Some college seniors never got to properly say goodbye to some friends and won't have the chance since they have to start jobs and graduate school.

Today we drove to #2's college and moved her out of her dorm. It was a sad, because we were probably the last people to move out and the entire dorm was empty. Good for social distancing, but it was an abrupt end to a great adventure. She still has online classes for the next few weeks to finish out her semester, and we are grateful to be healthy.

So today we celebrate a great school year for our kids, a great freshman year for #2, health, friends, family, the ability to do online classes and work from home.

"I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. I can do all this through him who gives me strength." Php 4:12-13

I know a lot of people are learning to move out of grieving and shock. I hope you are all adapting okay. I am slowly learning how to manage. May we all learn the secret of being content in any and every situation and may we do all things through Him who gives us strength.
