Lent Photo Project Day 10: Testify

"But I do not account my life of any value nor as precious to myself, if only I may finish my course and the ministry that I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of the grace of God." Acts 20:23-24

"Testify" means to bear witness to. To make a statement. To speak up, to stand up for what you believe. In the New Testament, the Greek word is "martureo," related to our modern-day English word "martyr."

I had no idea what to post today, so I’m posting this nice picture of an Indian pipe. It kind of reminds me of how I feel whenever I DO speak  up — exposed and wanting to put my head down and pretend I’m somewhere else. I hate that I’m like that, but I always have been. Life as a shy person, I guess.

Today I'm sharing this article about Christians in Kenya for whom testifying "of the gospel of the grace of God" is a matter of life and death. No option to be a shy little flower there. It is heartbreaking, and humbling, to read about their plight. If you pray, please pray for these people.
