Money

Money is a hard one for a lot of Christians. I used to think that God wanted us to be poor, because there seemed to be so many verses in the Bible about rich people having trouble getting into the Kingdom of God.

But then I realized that David was one of God’s top servants—a man after God’s own heart—was blessed with riches. The Bible warns us of the love of money, or greed, not actual money itself.

We live in a consumer oriented society and there are so many toys around us. So many distractions, so many ways to turn away from God. I believe that God blesses us with many different kinds of riches—money being one of them—but I sin when I make money, and the things I can get with money, my god.

May we all seek the riches of God’s word, and may we thirst after His blessings. May we focus on Him and not allow material things to distract us.

Leftover cash from various trips. I believe Australia, South Africa and Thailand are represented here.

"Whoever loves money never has enough;
    whoever loves wealth is never satisfied with their income.
    This too is meaningless.
As goods increase,
    so do those who consume them.
And what benefit are they to the owners
    except to feast their eyes on them?" Ecclesiastes 5: 10-11
