It’s Cinco De Mayo!!! It’s the celebration of the Mexican army’s win over the French in the Battle of Puebla on May 5, 1862. It is also a time to commemorate Mexican culture and heritage. Where I live there is a large Mexican population, so I have been aware of it for some time.
We are commemorating with fajitas and chicken mole for dinner. A lot of people are excited that Taco Tuesday and Cinco de Mayo have fallen on the same day this year. Super fun.
Anyway, pink was the theme today and this is my photo for it. Our city has not lifted the facemask-in-public-buildings requirement, so I have been using a mix of this type of head and face covering and the standard cloth face mask. I’m really glad our mayor has kept the facemask requirement intact, at least for another few weeks as we try to get our country past this part of the disease evolution.
Hope you and yours are staying safe and follow the rules everyone! :-)
