Butterfly

The crucible is for silver, and the furnace is for gold,
and the Lord tests hearts. (Proverbs 17:3)

This verse was in my reading for this morning. Thinking about today's word of "butterfly," and the transformation from a caterpillar, and how it's got to be painful to go through so much change to become something so different, and so beautiful, I can't help but draw the parallel to silver in the crucible and gold in the furnace.

It is a painful time for our country, and perhaps we're in our own crucible, our own furnace, our own chrysalis. Are we going to come out of it better, more beautiful, more capable? Time will tell.
