Sunglasses protect us from the bright light of the sun, because that light is so bright, it could damage our retinas. If we look directly at the sun, the light could cause permanent damage to our eyes. The sun is 92,955,807 miles away, yet its light can still blind us. We can feel its heat, and the absence of its heat. It is so far away, and yet, it feels close.
God can be like that. He can feel like He's so far away, and He can feel very close. I think it just depends on us--and how often we call on Him, and how often we go to Him. The more we seek Him, the more we will feel His light and warmth.
This is the park at sunrise. I definitely felt the heat--91F and 66% humidity. That is actually not too bad for July in TX.
